Native to: Central and South America
Monstera dubia is a beautiful shingling vine that does best when given a background or drift wood to climb on. Although its mature leaves can reach a foot long with large fenestration, it remains in the much smaller juvenile stage in the vivarium. The immature leaves are heart-shaped and have light green variegation. They get larger with shorter internodes when planted against a background or plank, reaching up to 2-3 inches long in terrarium conditions. Very attractive and easy to root. Requires moderate to high humidity.
To get a cutting started, keep the node(s) in contact with damp substrate like sphagnum moss, without covering the entire stem. It will root well into substrates like ABG or potting mix, but we recommend using sphagnum moss along with it to keep the plant from drying out.
Please feel free to message us if you have any concern or question about rooting a cutting.
