Native to: Colombia and Ecuador
Philodendron fibrosum is a larger vining aroid that does well in the vivarium. It has unassumingly beautiful green leaves and develops stunning pubescent petioles as the plant matures. This species grows slowly and tends to have short internodes, which makes the plant easily manageable in the vivarium. We have a Philodendron fibrosum specimen that has been growing in our vivarium for 3.5 years, and the largest leaves we have gotten are about 6 inches long (fuzzy petiole shown in the last photo).
To get a cutting started, keep the node(s) in contact with damp substrate like sphagnum moss, without covering the entire stem. It will root well into substrates like ABG or potting mix, but we recommend using sphagnum moss along with it to keep the plant from drying out.
Please feel free to message us if you have any concern or question about rooting a cutting.
