Native to: Ecuador
Philodendron mamei is one of our favorite larger Philodendron species. Bold green leaves with subtle silver markings are supported by stout petioles. The petioles have a D shaped cross section which taper to nearly flat toward the base of the leaf. They also have an undulating ruffled edge. Philodendron mamei does very well in vivaria and our dart frogs seem to enjoy sitting on the leaves. Requires high humidity.
To get a cutting started, keep the node(s) in contact with damp substrate like sphagnum moss, without covering the entire stem. It will root well into substrates like ABG or potting mix, but we recommend using sphagnum moss along with it to keep the plant from drying out.
Please feel free to message us if you have any concern or question about rooting a cutting.
